Ministry Update
It has been a few months since you’ve heard from us and that’s because we have been very busy with the ministry and our growing family!
In short, we’re experiencing growth and expansion in our East Gate community. Tom has a couple of international mission trips lined up this fall. And we recently welcomed a new addition to our family, our promise child, Nathan Asher!

East Gate Community
The Lord has sent some amazing gifts to us this year! You last heard of John Paul Sprecher’s visit early this year. Since then we have also enjoyed a visit from our friends, Beau and Katie Key, and Valora Chastain with SonBurn Encounters and the Kings Kids in Pittsburgh, Paul Dabdoub from San Diego, and Etienne Blom from Stellenbosch, South Africa. These weekend Encounters have been powerful and very strategic in our development as a community.
East Gate has also experienced some exciting changes this year. We outgrew our house and relocated to the Trend HR Tower by The Harbor overlooking the lake with amazing views of the city of Rockwall as well as the skyline of Dallas. In addition we are kicking off Warrior Discipleship School middle of this month! This is a 12 week course with the purpose of building disciples and raising up leaders.
Upcoming Mission Trips
This fall Tom will be going on two mission trips. First, he will be returning to Israel for another mission trip focused on strategic prayer September 21st through October 2nd. Secondly, he will be going back to Liberia November 2nd through November 11th to train and equip pastors and leaders.
Often people are appalled when they hear about the horrors of human trafficking. They are disgusted by those who would enslave innocent women and children, but yet those same people tolerate, accept or even defend pornography. The fact is that if anyone watches or has ever watched pornography they are or have supported human trafficking, the purchase of innocent people and children for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation.
According to Shared Hope International’s report on the demand for sex-trafficking, pornography is the primary gateway to the purchase of humans for commercial sex. In a literal way, pornography is advertising for trafficking because traffickers and pimps use pornographic pictures of trafficked victims as advertising for their products. But when we say No to porn, we say No to sex-trafficking and save innocent lives!
Freedom Campaign Update
We are excited to announce this fall’s Walk4Freedom scheduled for Saturday morning, October 3rd. A team of walkers wearing a Speak Up t-shirt will be walking from downtown Rockwall to The Harbor to raise awareness of human trafficking and share ways people can get involved in the fight against trafficking.

Introducing Nathan Asher
Many of you know our story of years of barrenness and stood with us in prayer believing for the promise God gave us many years ago. Well what was said to be impossible with man, was possible with God! We praise God for fulfilled promises and answered prayers!
Nathan Asher was born at 10:53pm on Monday, July 13th, weighed 9lbs and was 21 1/4 inches long.
“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19 NIV)
