The results are in! We are pleased to announce that we reached our first year goal of 10K!!! Praise God!!! We had a great turnout, awesome volunteers, generous donors and sponsors. Even the weather cooperated with cool running temperature. It couldnt have been a better day, and we finished it off we praise and worship!
We raised a total of $10,076.10 to be exact, and after expenses we were left with 7K to fulfill our objectives. It warmed our hearts tremendously to be able to write two checks in the amount of two thousand dollars for SHE Rescue and Rescue Her to help provide for the girls in their respective rescue homes in Chennai, India and Phnom Penh, Cambodia. With the remaining three thousand we are looking into purchasing one to two billboards on I-30 to increase awareness of what is now the fastest growing criminal industry in the world, and happening right here in our homeland.
The fight against human trafficking and specifically sex-trafficking is one that can appear to be very overwhelming. However, we must not let the statistics paralyze us or become numbing. We need to focus on the one we CAN help because To succumb to the enormity of the problem is to fail the one, Sharon Cohn Wu, International Justice Mission.
We are incredibly thankful to God for the opportunity to be a blessing to SHE Rescue and Rescue Her, and could not have done this without the help of our volunteers, prayer partners, race participants, donors and sponsors! Thank you all so much for your support!
