Rockwall Citywide Church

on July 11, 2014

Dear Friends,

We are sad to announce that due to the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa the mission trip to Liberia this summer has been cancelled.  However, we are excited to share with you some of the work we have been doing domestically.  As many of you know, nearly two years ago the Lord sent us back to Rockwall to establish prayer and unity in the region.  What began with 33 pastors and ministry leaders in one room, has now evolved into a lot of different pieces.

Every Tuesday morning we gather at the Dayspring Chapel in Rockwall with pastors/leaders and intercessors from different church congregations for one hour to pray for our city and the region.   We pray for our local government, schools, businesses, churches, and anything else the Holy Spirit lays on our hearts.  We simply come together as one body to lift our prayers up to the Lord.

Similarly on Wednesday nights people from different churches gather at our home to worship and minister to the Lord.  This is how East Gate was birthed over a year ago, and our mandate is to equip and empower those that come and send them out as missionaries to their church, their place of work, their schools, and anywhere else they can be of influence.  Our heart is for the city-wide church and to see this region transformed by the love and power of Jesus Christ!

On June 18th we experienced unity at a greater level.  A few churches and communities in the Rockwall area gathered together for a night of prayer and worship at Pillar Church in Fate.  On that night we did not pray for unity, but rather we demonstrated unity by coming together as one body to worship the Lord, and to minister and pray for one another. This was the first of many united services to come and more churches are joining the call for unity!

If you would like to know when these services or other events take place we encourage you to join the Rockwall Citywide Church Facebook group.  This is a prayer community committed to the unity of the faith and the mandate to be One body, and on this page people are welcome to share events, special services, prayers for the city/region, testimonies, and anything else God may be saying or showing them for this city/region.

These are exciting times friends, and we look forward to seeing the manifestation of John 17!

Blessings,

Tom & Lyly Ledbetter

I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. John 17:20-23
