KGMi News November 2013

on November 11, 2013

Dear Friends,

Tom recently had the privilege of speaking to a large group of sixth grade boys about missions.  When he was first presented with this opportunity he was concerned that he may not know how to relate to them.  However, when he showed up with a bags of M&Ms, Skittles, and toy army men, they were all ears!  The kids circled around Tom as he talked to them about the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and missions.  He used the army men to describe the pieces of the armor and their purpose.  He explained military missions and used that illustration to lead into kingdom missions.

Tom was amazed at the receptivity of the boys!  They were fired up and seemed to really understand that they are missionaries right now even in their young age.  They dont have to wait until they grow up to go on global missions. They are missionaries right where they are.  Their mission is to their schools, home, neighborhood and city.  The parents and teachers present were also very receptive and seemed to be getting ministered to as well.  We are thankful for the open door to speak into these young lives!

In Proverbs 22:6 the bible says to Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.  We believe that investing into our children and youth is not only a privilege but an honor; and as followers of Christ it is also our responsibility.  It is our desire to see a young army raise up.  An army that stands up for righteousness, godliness and justice.  An army that in the midst of options chooses Jesus, the way, the truth and the life!

As part of our desire to see this next generation encounter God in a real way, live out the gospel, and fulfill their destiny, we are prayer walking our local schools on a monthly basis.  If you would like to get involved and would like to request more details please contact us.  And no matter where you live, we ask you to lift up our schools and the schools in your area in prayer.  Thank you!

Blessings,

Tom & Lyly Ledbetter

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of ones youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! Psalms 127:4-5 ESV

Human Trafficking Awareness Project

We are excited to announce that, in partnership with a friend, we will be hosting a human trafficking awareness event in the month of January.  The purpose of the event is to raise awareness, raise support and encourage involvement in the fight against the trafficking of men, women, and children.  This is the fastest growing crime in the world and it is not only happening overseas but in our very own cities here in America.  We believe it is important that people know and understand the realities of human trafficking and invite you to join us in spreading the word of this event.

We are currently planning the details, including the date and location, and look forward to sharing more information with you in our next newsletter.  In the meantime, we would like to ask you to be in prayer for us as we make preparations for this event.  Ask the Lord to direct our steps, open doors, and provide the resources and connections needed.  Thank you!
