Session 7 – The Foundation of Identity and Being Built Into Him

Transformation-a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance.  Every Day’s a Day to step into a new space of identity development. Transformation is the evidence (FRUIT) of the building blocks of having received a new identity.

Galatians 2:20

20 “My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine! When we know God’s thoughts we can then know His ways.  As a man think so He is and He is drawing us into Truth to see from a Higher and more Heavenly Perspective.

-Destiny, Direction, Deliverance, Impartation, Strategy, Encouragement, Foresight, Understanding, Warning, Transportation, Visitation & Encounter and Alignment

Definition of identity

1: the distinguishing character or personality of an individual : INDIVIDUALITY

  : the relation established by psychological identification

2: the condition of being the same with something described or asserted 

    establish the identity of stolen goods

3: sameness of essential or generic character in different instances

4 : sameness in all that constitutes the objective reality of a thing : ONENESS

5 : an equation that is satisfied for all values of the symbols

*Galatians-Fruit points to a mindset and a mindset points to a heart posture. Luke 24:8-They then remembered.  That which had been spoken was then ILLUMINATED.

The Nature of God-Character

Nature Definition-The basic or inherent features of something, especially when seen as characteristic of it.

Inherent Nature-Means it’s Essential and Permanent-Cannot be Changed!

2 Peter 1:4

For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

The Power of a Mindset-the established set of attitudes held by someone.

Proverbs 23:7

For as he thinks within himself, so is he.
He will grudgingly say, “Go ahead and eat all you want,”
but in his heart he resents the fact that he has to pay for your meal.

Our New Life

5 Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. 2 Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!

3 But that’s not all! Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. 4 And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. 5 And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!

3 The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest throne at the right hand of the majestic One.

Fullness of His expression in Jesus, the Word made flesh=The Word became flesh SO flesh can become the Word.

The Process of Taking on His Divine Nature:

1-Receive His Thoughts

2-Form New Mindsets-New Mind of Christ

3-Transformative Identity

4-Make Known the Fruit of His Nature

*Live in this continual cyclical development

*Establish and Distinguish between Old and New Nature.  Identify with Christ!

*Yielding to Life and Seasons to Perfect His Intent is us to Look Like Him

-Transformation.

Ties Nature to the Personhood of Jesus that is being supplied to us-Philippians 1:19

Always receiving the fresh and everlasting supply of Jesus Christ by the Spirit-John 15:4

Eat and Drink from Peace, Joy and Righteousness-Romans 14:17

In Him we live, move and have our being-Acts 17:28

“Our nature comes from him,” as translated from the Aramaic. The Greek is “We are his offspring.” The Greek word is genos, which means “kindred” or “family” (taken from his genes).

It is through him that we live and function and have our identity (BEING); just as your own poets have said, ‘Our lineage comes from him.’

As He is we Are-Becoming-1 John 4:17

By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world
